I chose Leaping in to learning because that’s exactly what I want for my children, I don’t want them to be afraid to jump right in when it comes to learning something new!

We are a family of five, which comprise of three very individual/Loving homeschooled children and two loving parents.  There has been a bit of a running joke within our family to refer to ourselves as a tribe!  It originally started with the birth of our youngest, and has continued since. Although it started as a joke I must admit that I have begun to see the merits of our renaming of our family. We all work with our individual roles within the family, with only the occasional stumble along the way.  Don’t get me wrong though we ARE like any other family and yes we do all have our differences on occasion but for the most part we aim to respect each other’s choices/beliefs.

We are a family of mixed beliefs and don’t really talk about religion in the sense of this is what’s right, and have taught the kids to be accepting of any Culture/ Religion.  Rather than teach religion I teach Religious Theology and basically we study different religious beliefs throughout history, and try to show that it is more important to be respectful and treat people equally than to worry about if their beliefs are different to their own.   We don’t usually discuss Religion or politics with people outside our family, as I have taught/am teaching the kids that these are very personal choices/beliefs that should have no effect on how we treat or see people.  As I see it most religions are all based with the same feeling that there is a need to be respectful and sympathetic and these are the important lessons that any good parent tries to instil in their child anyway.
Thank you for visiting leaping into learning; we hope you have a wonderful day!
