Today I’m posting the second clip of L attempting cartwheels. You may notice that he is getting more height and speed which is great! It has made it more difficult for him to land solidly though and it’s something that he is continuing to work on. Way to go L we are proud of all the hard work you are doing! We have had some unfavourable comments from family about my previous post, just to set the record straight we are very proud of all our kids. L had asked me to look at what he had learned at dancing on the first day that they had been asked to perform cartwheels. I had decided to film what he had to show me, resulting in his cartwheel clip from the previous post. We think he was/ is doing great considering the clip is of the first day he had ever attempted to do a cartwheel. He and we are all proud of that film clip, and it was L that asked if we could put it up on the website. I think that there is nobody alive, especially if they teach kids that could complain about my excited son L’s first attempts at a new skill. L has been practising like mad, and one day in the future we will probably post a more up to date clip to mark his progress, and he has been making progress... So from one parent that never had the coordination or the inclination to successfully complete a cartwheel; Be proud of your children’s accomplishments, and if they are proud of something they have accomplished than support them in their success! Our family are not as physical as some other families, we are often clumsy and sumwhat uncoordinated so it should come as no surprise that the kids have had no interest in learning the finer points of how to successfully execute a cartwheel. Well as followers of our blog the-not-so-pritty-truth are aware, the kids were enrolled in dance lessons earlier this year, so as part of their lessons they need to now learn how to cartwheel. So here it is, this is one of L’s First attempts at performing a cartwheel. |
